So I am here, ready to join the job world at last. Seems like a good opportunity getting to launch a new exchange. Lets see how the cookie crumbles.
It comes to an end – the entire 3 months…to say it was awesome, awesome amounts of fun would be a real understatement…i LIVED, LIVED and LIVED like i never have, like i never could imagine
I saw a lot, I learnt a lot (or atleast i hope i did)….each day was filled with experiences to enjoy, savour and cherish
I have an exam tomorrow and all i can think of is the sadness i would feel when i leave this place for india…..
don’t hate me – india is my home country…so i love it more than lobsters cooked in spicy avocado salsa and sour cream (which means a LOT, literally!)
but i wonder why should i love india apart from the fact that its my own ?? the culture, is it OR are we talking about the superficial, multi-persona lifestyle we lead where we are janus faced with our friends and parents ?? should i love india’s history – the fact that we never attacked anyone, tried to live peacefully..but oh sorry, were subjugated for close to 600 years. Should i love india for the fact that it is the biggest democracy whose votes are cast on liquor and minority politics ??
Where are the 120 kmph roads, may i ask ?
Where is the water, electricity ?
What about safety, health, education
The nations i went to in the last 3 months have achieved the above and gone far beyond….
spare me your excuses though…i can pinpoint them:
1) India has been free for only 60 years now
2) We have a large population
3) The systems are pretty slow….it will happen though
I dont know, I cant say…..maybe its just me

As i sit here losing translation and sleep and all rest that god had made compulsary for mankind on a sunday ( but which devouts like me extend to all other days in weekend) I come across a friend’s post on a blog…..and something about a colony of hot chics, a group of hot chics, a gaggle of hot chics etc etc etc
It became quite clear to me that forget alone the colony, even a single element is difficult to exist…….it either gets attracted to some smart element of the opposite kind, becomes unavailable and loses her chic appeal (Its called the “grapes are sour” theory) or becomes my best friend [that's another tragedy of my life......sadly I would not be able to describe it in this post] !
Ah, I forgot to tell you, the past few days i have been trying to note down everything i have ever done in my life…..(Its a hobby in IIM Cal, lots of people do it……..apparantely gud for introspection) and was surprised at how dissolute i have been in my entire life ! Not that it really bothers me……for I really am proud of my purposeless life, but neverthless it was a surprise to know that I have dabbled in almost everything possible on earth and with an almost shocking rate of 99%, managed to get my hands burnt…….
acads, sports, arts, snake charming, banging my head against the hammer, short circuiting the entire colony’s power supply, trying to eat my neighbours’ ear (that was a Mike Tyson inspired effort, and I have always been sorry about it), running away from home, being lost for 2 days as a kid, eating ants……….u name it, i have tried it !!
Its a gud thing to look back…….u come to know that u did not suck in only one field, it was an all roundish performance 
PS1: some parts might look like being exaggerated
PS2: seriously, i cant deny or accept anything
PS3: believes and assumptions at your own risk!
PS4: I hope for my sake (and for my friends’ too), that a colony of hot chics exists

yes, i have finally reached here……
this place is even better than i imagined atleast as far as the scenic beauty goes – 7 lakes, forests all around, nice rooms – pretty much a wildlife sanctuary with all kinds of reptiles – snakes, lizards, cockroaches……u name it (although all of them are pretty harmless)
the people here are nice too……i was pleasantly surprised at the attitude of my seniors- extremely cool and comfy to talk to – considering what i got in my first days at NSIT (offence intended)……even my batchmates are really nice – pretty simple and down to earth…….but most importantly, almost all of them are scared of the impending academic load which helps coz even i am not at my normally chilled out position of indifference at this stage.
i am at the library at this time. pretty cool spot - largest library in Asia and plus, all kinds of journals kept here. lots of novels too, that might help [i.e. if i get the time ]
the only unfortunate part about this place is the extremely damp weather – try being in a steamed room for 24 hours – you will get to know what i am talking about.
somebody just asked me how calcutta is, as a city ?
lemme answer that before i leave here………calcutta is an old world city – if u dont like the streets of old delhi or chandni chowk, u will probably hate this place…….on the other hand, if such places interest you and remind you of times yore, u will absolutely love it.
there are a number of places to vist here – kalighat mandir, dakshineshwar mandir (both temples of goddess kali), park street (almost like CP, AFAIK), howrah bridge, victoria memorial, Science City and of course the planetarium here (which is awesome, from what i have heard). if ur one of the “old world charm” lovers, this is definitely a place to visit
if anyone of u readers do plan to come here, please give me a call……..i wd be generous enough to let you share my accomodation
oh last and certainly not the least, this place has a combined boys/girls hostels, ramanujan – and its the one where i reside currently

Dunno ? doesn’t matter…….I am using it to give impetus to a social revolution undergoing in my college.
Chiefly related to 4th years, who are more or less at peace with the world and realized its useless fighting luck…..and better cribbing about all the other things life offers / does not offer…..and having nothing else to do in their spare time…. have developed a sense of spiritual belonging with this revolution……..we call it THUSS.
Many people confuse THUSS with idleness…….i’d beg to differ. THUSS is more than idleness…….it encompasses everything that universe has had to offer. in fact, idleness is a subset – for THUSS includes talking on nonsensical matters, talking parkour, talking crap, talking seinfeld, talking GTR, talking nasal blocks, talking spiritual disintegration, talking of how life isn’t going anywhere, talking chinki movies……now, don’t confuse it with bakchodi……..for it also includes
1) Exercise for no purpose
2) Roaming with no purpose
3) Studying Greek History (obviously, purposeless)
4) Pursuing Astronomy as a means to livelihood
in short, anything that is desultory and not going to benefit you in your “CAREER” [never really knew what the word meant......]
for, if it is intended for a purpose – it is not THUSS.

just the other day i was going through a friend’s profile…..lots of requests frm unknown guys “hi, can we be friends?”
what is the thought process behind such requests? Do they really think a girl would be impressed……probably they flood 100’s of girls everyday with such messages and think aloud to themselves “Maybe today is the lucky day…. ” maybe some girl wd reply back
“hey! i know ur profile is fake bt somehow ur words have had the greatest impact on me. I know its only a frndship request……..bt i have fallen in love with u. Can we hook up?”
to me, frnship requesting is the orkut way of spamming…..maybe someone, somewhere is so desperately in need of friends, they’ll fall for the spammers.
the human obsession with creating new friends out of thin air is perplexing…….we think of ourselves as magicians, cha-ching, kazzam - hey i made a friend, can u do that sir (of course, u can’t….my gregarious is well documented 
)
lemme revise a few of my all time-fav chinki movies:
1) Enter The Dragon – This has gotta be the amongst the top 10 movies ever for the sheer energy of the greatest martial artist ever………and its rocking soundtrack theme, not to mention the final mirror climactic scene.
2) Way of the Dragon – For that fascinating last 5 minute battle sequel b/n Bruce lee and Chuck Norris
3) Fist of Fury – (ok, i am enumerating only Bruce lee’s movies..bt this is nt an order of preference!) This movie had a real story! Depicted one chinese rebelling against the Japs who killed his master and wanted to take over his martial arts school. That one sequence where Lee beats the hell out of 10 martial artists on their own turf has gotta be one of the best ever.
4) Once Upon a Time in China- Jet Li stars as Wong Fei Hung who pitches his Kung fu against bullets and Englishmen. The staircase fight scene at the end is awesome, to say the least!!
5 ) Hero – One kung fu movie which had a real, real strong script. Jet Li’s fight on water with swords is the high point of this movie. One of My personal favourite.
6) Drunken Master – One of Jackie Chan’s earlier movie. Don’t really remember much abt it…..except i really liked it
7) Kung Fu Hustle – Has to be the best chinese movie I have ever seen. Such a perfect blend of emotions, music and a strong script too……..People are always gung-ho abt its last scene, bt my fav is the part when Beast beats the hell out of Paris and Helen of Troy (just names…….)
Shaolin Soccer – no real fighting, bt once again raymond chow proves his genius at acting and direction. The last kick is amazin…….
9) Iron Monkey - one helluva fighting movie. Those who crave for crouching…….dragon, please go watch this one! Awesome, awesome stunts
10) Rumble in The Bronx – am not a big fan of Jackie Chan, bt this movie is worth mentioning for its unbelievable stunt, all done remarkably well by jackie Chan (Broke his Ass twice in the movie, bt i guess that’s the accepted norm for this guy).
11) Tai Chi Master – jet li’s amazing hand speed and the last part where he beats his friend-turned-foe by using the techniques of Tai-Chi is truly exceptional.
there was a time when preparing for GRE seemed tough.but no more…the process of apping is even more a pain in the u know where. Every college has an application fees, u hv to pay money to get the transcripts nd last but not the least, u have to pay money to get ur TOEFL and GRE scores delivered….there is very little time i can waste, even for my standards and a person of my callibre who has no intellectual match in the world when it comes to wasting time that can be constructively used in more noble pursuits.
sometimes i think i shd convert this blog to a place where i can rip these fwds apart……sample these, nd follow my argument so u cd probably undastand y i wd nt wanna get fwds
